Laura Raiford - Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with experience in church, medical and school-based settings counseling adults, children and families in a variety of areas including trauma, anxiety, mild autism, ADHD, family and attachment issues and grief. I employ a client-centered, multimodal, attachment-based approach with a strong use of psychodynamic and experiential modalities (particularly play and art/creative therapies) and have a special interest in working with trauma. Also an adoptee, I am skilled in working with the foster and adoptive population including youth adoptees, adult adoptees, and the parents/caregivers of foster and adopted youth. I enjoy helping clients develop emotional insight and awareness, and strengthen their abilities to advocate for their emotional and relational needs, as well as partnering with individuals and families to facilitate growth and awareness as paths to healing. I am able to employ widely accepted and evidenced-based practices couched in a biblical worldview. I have enjoyed living in several different areas of the United States, now calling the South my home since college. I have resided in the Greenville area for the past ten years and love its proximity to the coast and mountains. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, watching baseball games & movies, reading great books, and spending time outside (birdwatching, anyone?).
